My goal for six pack abs in 6 months went out of the window when I failed to accomplish that by the end of December 2012.
Well, it’s walked back in through the front door …
If you’ve been following my posts then you will know that the main programs I was using to accomplish my goal were the f4x program and Mehdi’s 5 x 5 system.
After spending most of January wallowing in self pity over not accomplishing my fitness goals I decided to get back on my horse and make another go of it.
This time around I’ve reduced everything to the simplest components. I will use nothing but Mehdi’s 5 x 5 system and in terms of nutrition will just eat what I want (but making sure to limit junk food as much as possible). As soon as I gain traction, I can then start tweaking things.
I sincerely believe the 5 x 5 system is the best way to go. It works the whole body and after two weeks of trying it out have found it can be completed in well under an hour.
If you’re into bodybuilding and still sitting on the fence regarding whether to continue with the typical isolation exercises of a bodybuilding routine you should check out Mike Geary’s article on body part isolation routines. This should give you a clear idea of why I am going the route of compound exercises and sticking with the 5 x 5 system.
COMPOUND EXERCISES ARE BY FAR THE BEST TYPE OF EXERCISE TO LOSE BELLY FAT PERIOD!
